December events - the beginning of independence

The department of social affairs and youth policy, the department of pharmaceutical and toxicological chemistry, as well as the department of kazakh, russian and latin languages organized an event dedicated to the 28th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

A moment of silence commemorated the victims of the December events of 1986, who gave their lives for the future of the country, freedom of choice and freedom of speech.

To open the event, the floor was given to the head of the department of social affairs and youth policy E. Salim. G. Ormanova, a participant in the December events, a teacher at the department of medical biophysics and information technology, shared her memories of the survivor.

Guests of the event were direct participants in those events B. Sagintayev, chairman of the Patriotic Movement of the Republican Public Association “Zheltoksan Akigaty” in the Turkestan region and in the city of Shymkent, and member of this association B. Tolemetov.

Students of curatorial groups of the 3rd year of the faculty of Pharmacy presented a production based on episodes of the December events, works and songs dedicated to the heroes of those days were performed.

Professor S. Ordabaeva, head of the department of pharmaceutical and toxicological chemistry, summed up the results of this event and encouraged young people to know the history of their people and to honor the memory of their heroes who gave their lives in the name of prosperity of the young republic.
