CENTRAL ASIAN ONCOLOGY WEEK
From September 6 to 8, 2023, the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Central Asian Oncology Week» was held for the first time in Astana with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the Conference, an exchange of experience was held with leading specialists from Central Asia, near and far abroad on topical issues of surgery, satellite symposiums were held, and poster presentations were discussed aimed at popularizing and widely introducing the international experience of oncologists into Kazakhstani practice.
Speakers came from: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Great Britain, Germany, the USA and South Korea.
The following issues were discussed at the Conference: healthcare organization and medical law, radiation oncology and nuclear medicine, personalized approaches to drug therapy in oncology, palliative and supportive care for cancer patients, intensive and nociceptive therapy in oncology, optimization of surgical approaches in the treatment of tumors of various locations: breast cancer glands, oncogynecology, oncosurgery, oncourology, oncohepatology, the trinity of nursing in oncology: practice, education and science.
The head of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Nursing, Seidakhmetova Aizat Ashimkhanovna, made a report: «Using service design to increase patient satisfaction», shared her experience of participating in international projects and the results of the research. During the discussion, answers to questions of interest from conference participants were received.
