V Congress of Infectious Disease Specialists, epidemiologists, parasitologists, microbiologists and virologists of Uzbekistan "Lessons of the pandemic and prevention of new threats"

On November 14-15, 2024, the V Congress of Infectious Disease specialists, epidemiologists, parasitologists, microbiologists and virologists of Uzbekistan "Lessons of the pandemic and prevention of new threats" was held in Tashkent. The solemn opening of the event and the welcoming speech were delivered by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Silbekovich Khudiyarov. Employees of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Dermatovenerology of the SKMA Abuova G.N., Berdalieva F.A., Zhuzzhasarova A.A. and Sarypbekova L.L. actively participated in the work of the congress, presenting scientific reports and speaking at thematic sections.

The congress was attended by international speakers, including:
• Head of the WHO country office in Uzbekistan Ashina Khaladkina
• Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being, Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Russia Anna Yuryevna Popova
• Head of the GIZ project "Support for the implementation of the health strategy in Central Asia" Cornelia Becker.
The event brought together experts from different countries to share experiences and discuss current challenges in the field of healthcare. At the V Congress of Infectious Disease Specialists, epidemiologists, parasitologists, microbiologists and virologists, thematic sections were organized:

2. Current issues of acute and chronic infectious diseases at the present stage
3. Parenteral infections and HIV/AIDS
4. Control and prevention of antimicrobial resistance
5. Principles of quality control in the diagnosis of infectious diseases
6. Recent trends and future strategies in the field of infectious disease prevention

8. Zoonotic diseases in the context of the concept of "Unified health"
9. Prevention and control of infectious diseases
10. Parasitizes and mycoses: features of diagnosis, treatment and prevention
11. Acute intestinal infections in children and adults: issues of diagnosis, treatment and prevention
12. SARS and coronavirus infection COVID-19: vaccination and epidemiological surveillance
Representatives of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy (SKMA) from the city of Shymkent made presentations at the congress:
• Professor G.N. Abuova, Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the SKMA, her contribution, in addition to moderating work, included presentations on the following topics:
1. ARVI therapy in a hospital setting

2. Zoonotic infections in the practice of an infectious disease specialist

• Associate Professor PhD F.A. Berdalieva, Department of Infectious Diseases and Dermatovenerology of the SKMA, made a presentation on the topic: Controlled criteria for mortality of people with CCHF (Crimean hemorrhagic fever).

Associate Professor PhD A.A. Zhuzzhasarova and the head teacher of the Department, assistant of infectious Diseases and dermatovenerology Sarypbekova L.L., presented a report: Clinical and pathomorphological characteristics of measles at the present stage.

The Congress has become a significant scientific platform for discussing topical issues of infectious medicine and exchanging experience between specialists from different countries.
