The SKMA team at the Central European Joint Infodays 2024 Erasmus+ in Bratislava, Slovakia
On December 3-4, 2024, the Central European Joint Infodays Erasmus+ 2024 was held in Bratislava, Slovakia, which took place in the format of training seminar dedicated to the international centralized actions of Erasmus+ in the field of higher education. The Republic of Kazakhstan was represented by the coordinator of the National Office of Erasmus+ in Kazakhstan Laura Kalabayevna Paluanova and assistants of the Department of Emergency Medicine and Nursing, Doctoral students of the educational program «Medicine», as well as the chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of «SKMA» JSC, Umida Abdyvalyyevna Khojakulova and Dana Auyezhankyzy.
The seminar was organized by the national Erasmus+ agencies of four neighboring countries: Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. It was attended by partners from Indonesia, Tunisia and Georgia, and representatives of Kazakhstan who was the only invited country from Central Asia.
The event was held in the context of the Erasmus+ 2025 call for proposals and was mainly focused on the international aspect of the programme, i.e. actions supporting cooperation between the Erasmus+ programme and partner countries in the higher education sector. Having considered the following areas: Erasmus Mundus (Joint Masters and Design Measures), capacity building in higher education, Jean Monnet (chairs, modules, centres of excellence and networks), the experts noted the relevance and importance of Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries in Erasmus+ projects.
On the second day, two types of workshops were organised, covering four types of centralised actions: Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters, Erasmus Mundus, Capacity Building in Higher Education and Jean Monnet Actions.
The topics of the presentations by leading Erasmus+ experts included background, implementation highlights, tips for preparing and planning the budget, staff, project activities.
Erasmus+ project managers shared their success stories and experiences in more complex tasks, including evaluation criteria, budgeting and technical tips for strong proposals, with a focus on proposal preparation, communication and coordination with partners, as well as their main lessons learned.
As part of the seminar, a roundtable discussion was organized where participants exchanged ideas for future projects, discussed implementation strategies and potential challenges, and shared plans for future collaboration, as well as contacts. During the Q&A session, Erasmus+ representatives answered questions and provided valuable recommendations. At the conclusion of the program, participants were awarded certificates.
