International conference at Nazarbayev University

On may 23-24, 2019, the international conference "Development of nursing in Kazakhstan through strengthening inter-institutional cooperation" was held at the School of medicine of Nazarbayev University. The Conference was attended by leading Kazakh and foreign experts in the field of nursing, including invited speakers from the universities of Finland, Holland, Slovenia.

Head of the Department of "Emergency medical care and nursing" Seidakhmetova A.A. made a report: "Improving the communication skills of nursing professionals." The purpose of the conference is to create a platform for a wide range of stakeholders from education, science and practice to discuss issues of nursing in Kazakhstan (state and prospects). Representatives of the Ministry of health, the Ministry of education and science, the National center for health development, local health authorities, teachers of medical colleges and Universities, practicing nurses, representatives of the national and regional professional Association of nursing professionals took part.

The conference discussed the main topics: leadership in nursing, evidence-based nursing practice, research in nursing, modernization of nursing through the integration of education, science and practice.
