Remembrance and Cleanliness: A Responsibility of the Younger Generation

The academic advisers of the Department of Drug Technology and Organization of Pharmaceutical Practice at South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, together with fifth-year students of the 6B10106 Pharmacy educational programme and B. S. Baiymbetova, Chief Specialist for Social Affairs of the Youth Policy Department, organized a community clean-up at the Qasiret Memorial Complex in Shymkent. The main purpose of the initiative was to foster respect for historical sites, promote environmental cleanliness, and develop a strong sense of civic responsibility among young people.
During the clean-up, the students collected litter, tidied the surrounding grounds, and carried out landscaping and improvement work across the memorial complex. Their active participation demonstrated unity, diligence, and a responsible attitude towards public spaces.
The Qasiret Memorial is a significant place of remembrance that recalls the tragic pages of the nation’s history and honours the memory of innocent victims. Initiatives of this kind have great educational value, helping young people develop historical awareness and strengthen their respect for national and universal values.
By taking part in the initiative, the future pharmacists demonstrated that cleanliness and order begin with the personal responsibility of every individual. This socially meaningful activity encouraged civic engagement among the students and promoted care for their home city, as well as respect for its historical and spiritual heritage.
