The international congress “Interdisciplinary Neurology – 2026” has commenced in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. This major scientific event is jointly organized by the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy and the Asia Neuro Association.
The congress brings together researchers from the Global Parkinson’s Genetics Program (GP2), leading experts from the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS), as well as scientists and experienced medical practitioners from Kazakhstan and other countries.
The main objectives of the congress are to discuss early diagnosis, modern treatment and rehabilitation approaches for neurological disorders, facilitate the integration of scientific advances into clinical practice, and promote international research collaboration.

On the first day of the congress, special scientific and educational sessions on neurogenetics and bioinformatics were held as part of the international Global Parkinson’s Genetics Program (GP2).
The sessions focused on the genetic characteristics of Parkinson’s disease, advanced genomic research, bioinformatics analysis methods, and the findings of international scientific projects.
These meetings provide valuable opportunities for young researchers and healthcare professionals to enhance their expertise, exchange scientific knowledge and experience, and strengthen international partnerships.

The “Interdisciplinary Neurology – 2026” congress is set to become an important platform for advancing neurological science in Kazakhstan, integrating global scientific achievements into the country’s medical practice, and fostering international scientific cooperation.
