Digitalization in radiology education: the path to clinical competencies. On November 5, 2026, the Department of Phthisiopulmonology andRadiology of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy held a clinical and methodological round table on the topic «Digitalization in radiologyeducation: the path to clinical competencies».
The purpose of the event was to discuss ways to introduce moderndigital technologies and artificial intelligence capabilities into the radiologyeducation process, exchange experiences and develop professional and clinical competencies of residents. During the round table, moderndirections of digital transformation in radiological education, issues of digital image analysis and clinical decision-making based on them wereconsidered. In addition, during the first academic year, a practical sessionwas held with the participation of residents of the radiology specialty,where the main focus was on their skills in analyzing and clinicallyinterpreting diagnostic images. During the exchange of views, issues of effective use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in the educational process, assessment of their capabilities and limitations werediscussed.
The main priority of the department is the training of competitiveradiologists who are proficient in modern digital technologies, able to correctly interpret diagnostic information and make clinical decisions. The event has become an important scientific and methodological platformaimed at sharing professional experience, developing innovative teachingmethods and improving the quality of radiology education.
