“A Resilient Spirit — A Light on the Path of Medicine”

At the initiative of the teaching staff of the Department of Family Medicine and under the supervision of Department Assistant Dildora Damirovna Yeshimbetova, medical interns from groups ІТҚ-10-26 and ІТО-13-26 organized an informative and educational lecture for students of Secondary School No. 29 named after A. Moldagulova. The event focused on protecting adolescents’ reproductive health and preventing early pregnancy.
The main purpose of the event was to provide students with accurate and accessible information about the effects of early pregnancy on health, psychological well-being, education, and future life.
During the meeting, the students were informed about the physiological and psychological changes that occur during adolescence, personal hygiene requirements, and the key principles of maintaining reproductive health. It was explained that early pregnancy places a significant burden on a young body and increases the risk of various complications during pregnancy and childbirth. It was also emphasized that early pregnancy may negatively affect a student’s ability to continue their education, choose a profession, adapt socially, and maintain emotional well-being.
The students were given recommendations on developing responsible behavior, understanding and protecting personal boundaries, and preventing pressure or coercion. They were advised to say “no” clearly and confidently in unsafe situations, refuse suspicious meetings or proposals, and seek timely help from a trusted adult. It was emphasized that all relationships should be based on mutual respect, responsibility, and safety.
Special attention was given to the importance of obtaining information about reproductive health from healthcare professionals and official sources rather than from unreliable sources on social media. If students have health-related questions or concerns, they were encouraged to speak with their parents, the school psychologist, social educator, or a healthcare professional. The importance of confidentiality and seeking professional advice was also explained.
The awareness-raising activities on the prevention of early pregnancy contributed to developing a more responsible and informed attitude toward health among adolescents. It is recommended that such preventive activities be continued regularly with the participation of parents, teachers, psychologists, and healthcare professionals.
