SKMA-2025 Winter Research School Successfully Held at the Academy
From February 17 to 19, the Academy hosted the SKMA-2025 Winter Research School, organized by the Office of Project Management and Commercialization with the support of the administration. The primary goal of the event was to enhance the practical skills of young scientists and students in conducting scientific research, as well as in implementing scientific projects and startups in the fields of science and medicine.
The program covered the full cycle of scientific project development, discussions on current trends and challenges in modern science, and seminars on writing and reviewing scientific articles. Additionally, special lectures were held for faculty members on preparing projects for government and private funding competitions and on the commercialization of scientific developments.
The Winter Research School was officially opened by the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Strategic Development, M. M. Yessirkepov, who wished the participants success. N. M. Daribayev, Head of the Department of Scientific Research, Doctoral, and Master’s Studies, introduced the participants to the program.
The event featured distinguished speakers from Astana and Almaty, specializing in the commercialization of scientific developments and innovations. They provided insights on selecting relevant research topics and preparing applications for funding competitions. Among the speakers were:
• B. Israilov, Head of the Research Department at NJSC "Narxoz" University
• S. Kaiym, Adjunct Assistant Professor
• B. Sarkeiev, founder of the "Samruk-Kazyna" fund and author of the strategic project Business Roadmap
• S. Sypabek, an Academy graduate and founder of "Galamat Group"
• B. Zhakipbayev, Chief Scientific Researcher at E-Tech, People's Friendship University named after Academician A. Kuatbekov
• Representing the Academy, G. Shaimerdenova and D. Bekaryssova also delivered presentations.
Participants included students, master’s and doctoral candidates, and faculty members of the Academy, along with specially invited guests from Bukhara, Republic of Uzbekistan.
On the final day, an intellectual battle was organized to summarize the three-day program and enhance participant engagement. Active participants were divided into teams, and winners of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places were selected. The winning teams received commemorative gifts, diplomas, and cash prizes from Mr. Seitzhan Sypabek, founder of "Galamat Group" and a MedTech investor.
The Winter Research School concluded with participants exchanging contacts for future collaboration with the speakers and taking group photos. Each participant received a certificate equivalent to 18 academic hours.
