Scientific seminar «Written heritage of medieval Turkic folk medicine»

7.04.-18.04.2025, Head of the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Socio-social disciplines, PhD Nurzhanbayeva Zhanat Oralbaikyzy visited the NAO "Kazakh National Medical University named after S. J. Asfendiyarov", the Department of "History of Kazakhstan and socio-humanitarian disciplines" on academic mobility.
Purpose: to ensure the professional, scientific and cultural development of teachers, as well as to improve the quality of education. 
In honor of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.Zh. Asfendiyarov, Nurzhanbayeva Zh.O. took part in the scientific seminar "The written heritage of medieval Turkic folk medicine", organized jointly with scientists of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Institute of Oriental Studies.
The event was organized and conducted in cooperation with the Scientific research Center "Written Monuments and Spiritual Heritage" of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, together with the MMF of S. D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University and the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Socio-Humanitarian Disciplines.
During the event, the written data of medieval Turkic medicine, their historical significance and connection with modern medical science were discussed. The scientific seminar was attended by the teaching staff and students, who listened with special attention to the reports of leading scientists on the ancient medical practices of the Turks, on ancient medical manuscripts and their significance in modern times. The speakers presented very interesting and informative material related to history, medicine and ancestral heritage.
In addition, the Veritas Medica team took 3rd place at the International Student Olympiad dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the University, organized on Science Day.
During the exchange of experience, students were given lectures on the discipline "History of Kazakhstan".
