Round table on the topic: "KHOJA AHMED YASAWI: SPIRITUAL HERITAGE AND MODERN SOCIETY"
On February 18, 2025, the department of social and humanitarian disciplines organized a round table on the topic "Khoja Ahmed Yasawi: spiritual heritage and modern society".
Goals of the round table:
- Preserve the spiritual heritage of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi.
- Strengthen spiritual values in modern society.
- Preservation and development of national identity.
- Scientific and cultural exchange.
- Raising the spiritual and educational level of young people.
- Strengthening international cooperation.
The round table was attended by doctor of historical sciences, professor of the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after Kh.A.Yassawi Kylynchkaya Mehmet Dervesh, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor of the SKPU named after O. Zhanibekov Mansurov Nurlan Berdenuly as well as the students of Shymkent University (SHU).
The round table was opened by the head of the department of social and humanitarian disciplines Ashirov Shadiyar Aldiyarovich who outlined the main goals and objectives of the round table and introduced the guests and opened the round table.
There were presented biography, teachings, the mausoleum and the spiritual heritage of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi by speakers at the round table. Doctor of historical sciences, professor of the IKTU named after Kh.A.Yasawi Kylynchkaya Mehmet Dervesh provided students with new information about the wisdom and spiritual heritage of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi.
Mansurov Nurlan Berdenuly, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor of the South-Kazakhstan Pedagogical University named after O.Zhanibekov also made a presentation to the students on spiritual heritage of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi. In addition, a second-year student of the specialty "General Medicine" Walikhan Perizat made a report on the biography and scientific training of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi at the round table. Second-year students of the specialty "General Medicine" Abdymanap Nurdaulet, Sarmanova Zhanelya and Sagat Akmerey recited the wisdom in the verses "Diwani Hikmet" by Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. Toregeldy Symbat about the science of Yasawi, Jalal Aruzhan about the Yasawi mausoleum, Karabek Jibek about the issues of turning the Yasawi mausoleum into a modern tourist center were read reports by the second-year students of the specialty "Technology of pharmaceutical production".
The round table was conducted by Ertayev M.A candidate of sociological sciences, professor of the department of social and humanitarian disciplines. In conclusion, he thanked the guests and spoke about the importance of the legacy of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi for modern society, his role in the education of youth, as well as the possibility of applying the spiritual principles of Yasawi in solving modern social problems. In addition, in order to prevent religious radicalism it is necessary to promote the ideas of wisdom and tolerance in the knowledge of Yasawi and also was discussed the possibility of popularizing his heritage through the development of spiritual tourism. Participants who took an active part in the work of the round table were awarded certificates at the end of this event.
