On academic mobility at the Department of Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapy and Clinical Pharmacology in SKMA

From 03.03.2025 to 07.03.2025, a visit by Dr Dithu Thekkekkara, a lecturer of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Department of Pharmacology of our partner university from JSS College of Pharmacy (Mysuru, India), took place at the Department of Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapy and Clinical Pharmacology of SKMA as part of academic mobility.
During her visit, Dr Dithu Thekkekkara actively communicated with students, postgraduates and teachers of the Department of Pharmacology, Pharmacotherapy and Clinical Pharmacology. She gave informative lectures, conducted seminars and master classes, enriching the academic experience of students and staff. During the events, in addition to topics corresponding to the calendar-thematic plans of students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, current issues on various key topics of pharmacological science were touched upon, including:
1. Frequently used tools in experimental pharmacology;
2. Study of the effect of inducers of liver microsomal enzymes in laboratory animals;
3. Clinical pharmacology and drug interactions;
4. The nature and clinical manifestations of drug interactions;
5. Clinical aspects of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics;
6. Age aspects of drug use;
7. Side effects of drugs and their dependence on various factors;
8. General principles of pharmacogenetics and chronotherapy
Dr. Thekkekkara's visit made a significant contribution to the exchange of knowledge and academic cooperation at SKMA and continued a series of mutual academic exchanges of faculty members of partner universities and, in the future, the department team is looking forward to the planned exchanges of students at the bachelor's and master's levels!
