"Neurogenetics – A Demand of Time"
The *South Kazakhstan Medical Academy* has launched an *international scientific and practical seminar* on the topic *"Neurogenetics – A Demand of Time."* The event was organized by the Department of Neurology, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, and Neurosurgery.
Opening the seminar, the *Rector of the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, Zhanna Seitzhanova,* wished success to all speakers.
The meeting brought together *leading specialists in neurogenetics, genetics, and neurology.* Among the speakers were top scientists in the field of neurogenetics and neurology, including experts from *the United Kingdom and Russia.* Participants discussed *current issues in neurogenetics* as well as *modern methods for diagnosing and treating genetic disorders in neurology.* Additionally, presentations were made on the *diagnosis and treatment of rare genetic diseases.*
As part of the event, *Marzhan Makhmutovna Lepesova,* President of the *Association of Pediatric Neurologists of Kazakhstan,* Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, and Head of the Neurology Department at the Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University, delivered a lecture on *the treatment of patients with spinal muscular atrophy.*
*Latina Aizhanovna Tekebayeva,* Chief Pediatric Neurologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, presented a report on *AADC deficiency,* a newly identified orphan disease, highlighting key aspects of its treatment.
