March, 17 - Shanyrak Day (Family Values Day)
The Department of Kazakh, Russian, and Latin Languages held an educational event on March 17, 2025, on the topic «March 17 – Shanyrak Day» with the participation of first-year students. The shanyrak holds special significance in Kazakh culture. It symbolizes the celestial dome, home, support, well-being, security, and the continuity of generations. Shanyrak Day contributes to the proper upbringing of the younger generation, fostering patriotism, humanity, thirst for knowledge, and diligence. On this day, family values such as love, respect, trust, mutual assistance, kindness, compassion, the sanctity of motherhood, and the continuation of lineage are promoted. During the event, students explained the significance of this holiday in the socio-political, cultural, and historical life of the Kazakh people. They prepared reports on national traditions and shared interesting facts. Additionally, poems from literary works were recited, video clips were shown, and a thematic art exhibition was organized. In conclusion, the department staff expressed their gratitude to the students for their active participation.
