II International Scientific and Practical conference «Actual infections of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Central Asia»

On June 16-17 2023, according to the plan of scientific and practical events of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023 the II International Scientific and Practical Conference «Actual Security Issues of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Central Asia» was held at the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy. The organizers of the conference were Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, South Kazakhstan Medical Academy, Republican Public Association for Infectious Diseases, Kazakhstan, Federal Budgetary Institution «Central Research Institute of Epidemiology» of Rospotrebnadzor, Tashkent Medical Academy and LTD «Association for Scientific Research in Health of South Kazakhstan».

The conference included plenary, 3 breakout sessions, as well as a competition for young scientists. Representatives of Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan took part in the work of the scientific event, in total 73 reports were made on the most relevant topics of infectology in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, and it was broadcast online.

The conference participants identified more than 200 infectious disease doctors, pediatricians, epidemiologists, GPs from different regions of Kazakhstan, Turkestan, Kyzylorda, Mangistau, West Kazakhstan, Abay, Zhetysu, Taldykorgan and other cities of Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, Shymkent.

The goals set before the conference were achieved. The goals set before the conference were achieved: joining the efforts of infectious disease doctors, epidemiologists, general practitioners and other specialists in solving urgent problems of infection control, sharing best practices in the development of new approaches to the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases, expanding international cooperation between scientists.
