In September 2026, the teaching staff of the Department of Therapy held an “Integrity Hour” for undergraduate and residency students.
The purpose of the event was to explain to students the importance of academic integrity, ethical conduct, and an anti-corruption culture, as well as to provide guidance on adhering to the principles of integrity throughout the educational process.
During the lecture, students were informed that SKMA has a dedicated unit responsible for preventing corruption and ensuring compliance with the principles of academic integrity. It was also noted that this area of work is coordinated by Compliance Officer Nurgali Alikhanuly Pernebayev.
Students were informed about the importance of preventing corruption, the inadmissibility of giving or receiving bribes, the prohibition of using official opportunities for personal purposes, compliance with academic integrity requirements, and the need to avoid indifference toward any unlawful actions.
In addition, it was emphasized that the key principles of academic integrity include demonstrating honesty during examinations and interim assessments, avoiding plagiarism, refraining from using the work of others without permission, ensuring fairness in the assessment of learning outcomes, and acting responsibly.
During the event, students had the opportunity to ask questions of interest and exchange views on preventing corruption risks and complying with academic integrity requirements.
In conclusion, it was emphasized that honesty and integrity are not merely requirements of the educational process but also important foundations of the professional and civic responsibility of a future specialist.
The event was aimed at developing students’ legal awareness and anti-corruption culture, as well as strengthening the values of integrity within the academic environment.
